SC / ST WELFARE COMMITTEE


The SC/ST Cell of GRCP was established for the welfare of the students from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities in improving their academic performance and in optimizing their development in their personal and social life at the Institute. It also helps the SC/ST categories to integrate with the mainstream of the institute community and to remove difficulties, which they may be experiencing. The committee ensures equality among all the students by counselling and to optimally utilise the benefits of the schemes offered by the Government of India.

Roles and Responsibilities of SC/ST Cell @ GRCP


  1. To counsel and guide SC/ ST students and help them to manage academic and personal issues of college life effectively
  2. To inform the SC/ST students regarding various scholarships program of State Govt. and UGC
  3. To take special interest in facilitating financial support to students of these communities from other sources.
  4. To ensure the possible necessary facilities like Hostel, Book facilities etc. provided by the central and State Government, to reach the SC/ST candidates
  5. To ensure provisions of an environment where all such students feel safe and secure.
    • To provide prompt counselling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any event at the campus.
    • To provide the mechanism to redress the grievance of SC/ST students, if any.
    • To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the Constitution of India.
  6. To communicate with the students and motivate them for better future planning.
  7. To organize interactive sessions and informal meetings with students to attend to their personal, social and academic problems, take necessary action and render them necessary advice/help to resolve the matter.
  8. To encourage SC/ST students to enrol for career orientation programs, which would equip them with the necessary skills to choose a career option.
  9. To conduct regular remedial coaching classes on life skills, personality development, writing assignments and making presentations
  10. To Counsel the students to help them overcome inferiority complex related to interaction with fellow students and personal grooming.
  11. To take such follow up measure for achieving the objectives and targets laid down for the purpose by the Government of India and the UGC.
  12. Collect regularly, on an annual basis, information regarding course-wise admissions to candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the college for different courses

The following are appointed as members of SC/ST Committee. The members shall review and discuss the matters relating to SC/ST candidates and take the remedial measures to dispose such matters. The committee meets at least two times in a year.
